Does anyone know

Does anyone know where to buy normal ball pythons? I've looked on king snake.com but I can't seem to find a normal pair, I'm new to breeding and would like to start out with normals for now. Thanks,

Chris

Re: Does anyone know

adopt from an animal rescue.

People dump them off all the time.

Re: Does anyone know

Are there any reptile shows? Honestly, I'd reconsider normals unless you want to be knee deep in snakes you can't get rid of. They practically give normals away at the shows down here.

Re: Does anyone know

I agree. There are more than enough normals produced from morph clutches. There's no market and IMO no real reason to purpsely breed normals.

Re: Does anyone know

Normals ARE hard to get rid of and they're usually really cheap. But there are quite a few people like myself who have a soft spot for normals for most any species of snake.

I doubt I'll ever get into breeding but if I did, I think I'd find a morph that I thought was the most amazing, see how it's made and make that my goal. If you want to see some really nice examples of royal morphs, I suggest you look at Mike Wilbank's site. If I'm not mistaken he also has some morphs in his collection noone else has. They're very pricey but definitely drool material lol

Re: Does anyone know

Awesome site! Thanks for all the advice, I guess I'll just try to save up for one morph at a time, I'll have a clutch ( hopefully 2 ) of cal. Kings soon, hopefully a few albinos in them as well. Should help get me closer to my goal of acquiring my piebald pair! That's my favorite morph by far, one day I'll have my breeding pair!

Re: Does anyone know

Personally I want a bumble bee morph. There's just something about them that really attract me. It will be a while until I start buying morphs though.

Mike has an eclipse morph that's just stunning but I don't think it's proved out yet and the last time I looked he hasn't said exactly what genes created it. The animal is beautiful the way it is to me, but if the lines can be cleaned up some it would truly be awesome!

Re: Does anyone know

Im sorry, Im not into Balls but I can understand the fun of creating something new. After all thats what Im doing with my current breeding project with my Corn with the loaner. Anyway, @ the OP... I would suggest getting in touch with the German Teddy Bear as he lives in Phoenix and he could point the way for you to go to. Im sure there are plenty of Balls available there and the cost is very mininmal.
