Re: Do snakes yawn?

Don't know if they yawn but they do re-allign and stretch their jaw from time to time at random

Re: Do snakes yawn?

yes, all animals yawn for one reason or another. We do it to stretch our jaws and if we're not getting enough oxygen into our blood which happens for some reason when we're tired IIRC.

Re: Do snakes yawn?

I must have several dozen pictures of my snakes yawning.. It's natural.

That's the ticket. They're keeping those jaws limber

Re: Do snakes yawn?

It is adorable when they yawn! Except when vipers yawn, it can be scary because they fully extend the fangs and stretch them. It is often the best view you'll ever get of the fangs though!

That's gotta be one of the coolest things to see in person.
