Will be getting a milk snake.
For the longest time now, I've been thinking of getting a milk snake. I'm just in love with them. There's an expo around my area at the end of this month and I'm going to be attending and hopefully finding a milksnake that I like. I'm really looking into an albino nelsons.
I found one a while ago at the petstore that I got to hold, and he was a little quick but not as fast as my corn. I was wondering what their temperaments are like, and if anyone has tips on the species. Also is their care like a cornsnake? And what size tank to they need full grown? This will be my 6th snake (7 if you count those I've had in all), so I'm not too much of a noob. I have a decent sized atasuki tank for him/her, but I'm not exactly sure the dimensions because I didn't check. It should be good for a baby though.

Re: Will be getting a milk snake.
I don't have any milksnakes but everything I've ever read on them has pretty much said their care is similar to the care for a corn. I've also heard and seen that they can be pretty wiggly when you hold them, but I'm sure they will calm down with regular handling. There are different kinds of milksnakes so the size enclosure for an adult varies on which kind you get. I myself fancy the black milksnakes.

Re: Will be getting a milk snake.
I really like honduran and sinaloan milk snakes, but don't own them
I know that most are more flighty than corns(and eat other snakes like kings), but thats it

Re: Will be getting a milk snake.
Milks are sub species of Kings. Their temperments are very good, iv never been bit by a milk or king, they mainly just like to try and punk you out, and if that doesnt work prepare to get musked! Their husbandry is similar to kings and corns, very easy to care for and very rewarding in the end. Good luck with your new milk!

Re: Will be getting a milk snake.
Thanks for the info I'm very excited to pick one up, I've wanted one ever since I got my second snake, they are gorgeous. I'm hoping I'll be able to pick up an albino, and possibly a normal as well, I'd be happy with either one.

Go with both! You cant have to many snakes! I say get male and a female and try to breed, milks have some cool morphs. I personally love the ghost milks.

My dad might kill me haha. I've already told him I want to pick up at least 6 tarantulas and he freaked a little. But I might have to do that, I know I'll end up getting another at one time or another so... I've never bred snakes but I would love to try that sometime. I would have the time until they are at age to breed, to do my research and everything.
