Anyone know of a good insulator for heat tape? I the 11' on my 12x12x12 tank on majority of the two sides and afraid it may not be doing the trick. Any suggestions?
Why do you want to insulate the tape? what type of enclosure is it? if its a glass tank, does it have a screen top? why are you heating the entire thing with tape, why not leave a temp gradient?

Am not heating the entire thing just a corner and I have a thermostat that regulates the temp other half of the tank is at a lower temp and yes it does have a screen top with pexi glass on it. I want to make sure I was going it right someone told me told me an insulator.
Sorry, I should've explained that I think I need to insulate the outside of the tank so that the heat from the heat tape doesn't escape out of the tank.
you should be fine, but if you are worried about heat you could always put styro sheets outside the walls, and reduce air flow. since its on a thermostat you wont really need to worry about the animal overheating, unless its in direct sunlight.
