Re: Getting to know each other

I could watch these things court all day. They're practically oblivious to anything around them during that time and they just seem *so* into each other. It's very cool. I really enjoyed watching my Carpets do their thing for a few weeks, but I'll never let that happen again, so I'm opting to live vicariously through these images

Re: Getting to know each other

An unplanned lock-up that happened so fast I wasn't able to stop it. Since there are always several unwanted Carpet Pythons needing good homes on any given day in my area, I was not happy about it. While I enjoyed watching how Whiskers protected and followed Sol during that time (he never let her get more than about 3 feet away before giving chase and curling-up on top of her to cover her almost entirely all the time), I've never let them cross each other's paths since. It was almost a blessing in disguise that we lost power for an extended period of time and the eggs didn't make it.
