Male to Female ratios?
what is a good ration of males to females, i should have? and how can i decide on what morph to get as what sex?
does it matter if i have a
male mojave x female pastel
or
female mojave x male pastel?
will i get the same outcome even though different mom and dad?
spider
mojave
pastel
black pastel
pinstripe
lesser
those are what im looking to get i will get 1 male, and probably 2 females of each morph i get.
let me know what a good ratio would be, and if it matters what morph is male or female.

Re: Male to Female ratios?
Its not going to matter what morph the male and female are you are going to get the same out come.
its all about what you want to make like: if you want to make bees and Pastave i would be getting a pastel male the get a spider and mojave females so you can breed the male to both females.

Re: Male to Female ratios?
are you planning on getting these small & raising them or getting adults?
getting females as almost breeding size & male as first year sub adults or babies means you could breed next season.
if all babies, I would get your females this year & your males next.
that way they are both ready to breed at the same time.
females 1.5 to 2 yrs old & min. 1500 grams
males 7 months to 1 yr. min. 700 grams
I try to add a little age & size to those figures myself, but that's a good starting figure.
I use 1 male to 2 or 3 females.

this is a good idea, i dont need to get them all right now... i want to get them as babies, and raise them up and breed them.. like i said, this is going to be for fun, and maybe make a little money on the side, just looking to get into breeding for fun.
so ill plan on getting 8 females this year, then some males next. unless i find awesome deals on males, then ill grab them

just remember, the more you have, the more it costs in time & money to take care of them.
try to start small so you can spend as much time with each one to make them tame & trusting.
then build as you get used to how much it takes for good care.
I have 27 breeders & 8 eggs to hatch on March 14.
those 8 will be sold as soon as they are ready, because 27 takes a lot of time.

i understand what you are saying. i will start small, but i sort of what to make some good morphs, other than albinos, or pieds, (if my hets prove out) i really like fireflys, and pastaves... so i want to produce "cheaper" morphs i guess so i will just get basic morphs, like spider, pastel, lesser, and maybe a cinnamon. to start.

Re: Male to Female ratios?
good way to start.
then you can breed back your combo baby boys to the females & make even more genetic combos the next season.
