Pink belly

Hi folks. Just had Princess out for a handling session and noticed her belly has a slight pink tinge. I don't think pics will help because it is very feint. I checked her aspen and it doesent feel damp. I reckon she's due a shed so could this be it ?

Yup, a pink belly is a sign of getting ready to shed. Nothing to worry about

Don't worry Swany, you got us to walk you through the next 10 months

I remember when i saw my Royals pink belly for the first time, i thought he had the beginnings of scale rot, or had gotten burned.

Re: Pink belly

When I first noticed it I thought scale rot. Then I thought not along her whole belly. Then I thought shed :-)

Eli, i don't own a carpet, but all my snakes exhibits a pink belly at the beginning of their shed cycle, so i would expect a carpet to get a pink belly as well, but don't quote me on that.

Re: Pink belly

Swany, next thing that will blow your mind is her eyes will glaze over & look like she has cataracts.
I saw that the first time & freaked thinking my snake was damaged beyond repair.

Re: Pink belly

She's already she'd for me once. I got a perfect whole shed off her. So I've seen her eyes blue. I just never noticed her belly the last time :-)

Yeah Eli, it happens to my carpets every shed. My dxj is the most dramatic though. She gets so pink on her belly I still get worried and I know its just because she's about to shed
