Maverick.. BP colour change?

Ok so my hubby pulled Maverick our BP out for a bit of exercise (he just recently shed) and I noticed that his colours are changing. Maverick was sold to me in 2010 as a normal I believe he was hatched early that year as he came to me on small rats. He has since been moved to mediums.

I have noticed that over time the spots on his spine have become lighter almost like a Tan instead of gold and his side markings are receeding. Instead of the gold going all the way down it fades to green speckled with yellow about 1/3 of the way from the bottom. His head is changing colour too. When we got him it was a chocolate brown and now its changed to almost a tan as well. He is also turning white. There are spaces between his side markings are lightening some of them are actually grey with all white scales.

His eyes were all black before and now I see a hazel iris

Has anyone else seen drastic colour changes in BPs?

A few months ago, i believe it was right before Christmas, i came home from work late at night, went to check on my snakes, and noticed my Royal, Siegfried looked a little different, so i went to take a closer look, and his entire color had lightened to an almost grey coloring, no brow, no tan. The thing is, he went back to his normal coloring the next day, and i haven't seen it since then.

These are the new pictures I took, in the old ones he looks like any other normal ball his colours (especially his head) are actually lighter in person. I will post an older one from last year as well

Even if people think he looks 'normal' I dont care!! Its cool

thanks his head is actually a toffee/ caramel colour but it didn't come up in the pictures

I don't know if its clear in the photos but his sides are turning greener and greener with every shed

I love the really light brown that goes down the middle of his back, it's very pretty

Thanks me too his tail if I managed to take a picture fades even more into an almost yellow. He is the weirdest normal I have ever seen lol. when he was little it was a dark gold too and with every shed it gets lighter and lighter it started with the tip of his tail soon after I got him and now its moved all the way up his back

The larger he gets, the more you'll notice his true colouration. You don't really see it as much when they're smaller because it's more concentrated, but as they grow you start to see it more and more

I just checked on him now to see if the colour change was a night thing and nope he is still the same colour. Admittedly he is a touch darker in person the flash sort of washed his colour out but the grey and white are still there.

SO I guess my question is, is there any reason why he seems to be turning white? Was he part of some weird breeding plan and the colour change is a part of his heredity? I have no intention of breeding him but I am fascinated by these changes

So if anyone has any ideas I would gladly hear them

I have no answers for you but I will tell you that right after my Royal shed I noticed a fairly large difference in his colors. He is a Black back het for Albino and after his last shed he has gotten a good amount lighter. So I would think this type of thing is fairly normal. I would ask Mykee what his thoughts are.

hopefully he will come on. Really if he is just a real pretty normal I will be happy I am not looking for something magical. Since I got him from a petstore I really have no idea what kind of mutt he may or may not be especially since I'm not sure how many breeders selectively breed normals does that make sense?

I don't think there are many people who selectively breed normals and I know many people around here that have a bit of a 'fan' base established don't usually give to pet stores and they don't usually breed normals. If I were to guess I would bet he is a normal bred with something basic like a pastel or spider from someone just starting out. I think of lot of normals tend to change as they get older. He is very pretty none the less.
