Time to Clean Euryale's Boaphile
While I was cleaning Euryale's Boaphile, I thought it would be fun to take some pics since I noticed shes not even in my album yet. Shes our most recent Dum acquisition. We got her in exchange for a bunch of rats last fall when Des Moines last had a reptile show.
First is a pic of her boaphile after I emptied it but before I cleaned it. Next is a pic of the newspaper and supplies I needed to get her set up. Next is a head shot of Euryale herself. Then last but not least is her in the boaphile all clean and set up.

Nice! How big is that cage?
That's a sweet deal to get a snake in exchange for some rats

Re: Time to Clean Euryale's Boaphile
The cage is 24"W X 14"D X 10"H. Its temporary housing for her until I can get another AP rack to more suitably house my snakes.
As far as that rat deal was concerned, it didnt even happen until after the show when I was packing up everything we had from the table we had there so yeah it was a sweet cap to a very busy day selling a bunch of rats.

Re: Time to Clean Euryale's Boaphile
Thnx guys. Ive been quite happy with her.
Btw, she did not come from a pet environment so it did take a little taming down with regular handling sessions and thats still a work in progress but she is calmer now than she was.

If she fits in that cage she must be smaller that I thought she was... I thought dums got bigger than 4ft?

Re: Time to Clean Euryale's Boaphile
They do but shes not full grown yet. Females can get to 7' while males generally get to 6'. Popeye, my '02 male is 5 1/2' while Black Betty is unusually sized at 9 1/2' and shes supposedly an '02 as well.

Re: Time to Clean Euryale's Boaphile
Thnx Norm.
Its funny comparing each of the 7 Dums I have. Yeah they all look similar but there are differences not only in the way they look but also in their distinctly different personalities. Black Betty is somewhat shy while Gandalf the Grey looks forward to getting handled. Arwen is mellow as can be while Euryale is a little more pensive. Popeye is friendly and an eager breeder while Kermit is a little more reserved. Then theres Miss Piggy, man she can eat! She is very contrasted in her color and pattern and very outgoing.

Re: Time to Clean Euryale's Boaphile
Ok I need to make a correction on Euryale's age. She is in fact an '08 which makes more sense considering her size of 4' and 4 lbs. Arwen is much bigger than she is and is an '07.
