New here, guess I should stand up and say somethin' to the class ;)
Well, long story short, I used to have a nice little herp collection a few years back but due to extenuating circumstances I was forced to adopt them out to a few good homes. Now, I finally get to jump back into the game.
I have my first coming to me in 23 days, a little yellow Sor x Jaya GTP. Just workin' on a nice custom cage for it and then getting the temps right and I'm good to go.
Um, my big 5 to start my new little zoo after the first are an Amazon Tree Boa, a Bredyl's Python, a Black-Headed Python, an Argentine Boa (Bco), and finally an SD Retic. Ooh, and maybe a pure Jungle Carpet.
I'm so stoked it's not even funny.
I like hots too, but I'm not ready for them by a long shot.
As for lizards and tortoises and other fun stuff, in few years I hope, but the next while my focus will be snakes.
I don't plan to breed. If I ever do, I'll pick one species and just have a single pair.
I don't like morphs very much, although they do look pretty neat, the GTP locality crossing was a stretch for me to keep personally. I particularly don't like hybrids. I guess I just prefer the natural way things are in the wild, and I worry that we'll muddy up the lines to the point where you don't really know what you're getting. To each their own right?
Anyhow, hopefully I can bring something to the forum, learn lots, and make some friends along the way.
Bit of a long intro, but I'm long winded lol, so that's that.
Aaron.

Re: New here, guess I should stand up and say somethin' to the class ;)
Well thank you all for the warm welcome!
I will definitely post pics soon! Enclosure first - really excited, workin' on a custom acrylic piece through a local plastics company. Years ago I always built with glass and melamine so it's going to be a very refreshing change. I've thought/ read a lot about natural vs. sterile lately, and I have an idea that makes the best of both worlds. Then of course the new little resident.
