Awe what a cutie.
I think your right, snakes can definitely sense things, (I believe all animals can) so if you are calm they sense that and don't feel panic'd themselves

That's exactly how my black milk is! he's about the same age too, they're just SO friendly, he usually wont go back into his cage if I've been holding him, he just likes slithering around and exploring.
