we've had 1.10 before but usually it's 1.6 and there's nothing wrong with 1 on 1

1.1 is ok but would be easier on your female if you had 1.2

Yes, a 30 gallon would be fine for the trio

What are the issues with 1 on 1? I am new to leos, and I was thinking of getting a female for my male.. do I need to give him a harem instead? Now I wish I was a leo.. lol.

If you have a 20 gallon aquarium, it would be fine to have one male and two females.

1.1 can be tough because the female can get stresses if the male wants to "go at it" more often than the female does. Another female gives him more to work with.
