Maybe I'm lucky with SOUTHERN AFRICAN ROCK PYTHONS (
Python natalensis) this year: here is a pure couple of mine during what seems to be a breeding.
Both male and female are three years old.
Python natalensis is one of my favourite snakes, I've dedicated much time to study this beautiful species.
I hope in the future ovulation, egg laying and hatchling of many babies! I will not separate this couple till the first half of February, according to D. e T. Barker (The African giants, The Vivarium, Volume 6, Number 1, July/August 1994).
The female is about 2,50 m long; the male is smaller (as it should be), about 2 m long.
Yesterday afternoon I have introduced the male in the terraium of the female, and they seemed immediately interested to each other, and this morning I have seen the surprise... Send me luck, this python has been rarely bred, but it needs so.
