Snake birthdays? lol
Well I'm pretty sure most of you might not celebrate your reptiles birthday, but I want too. My Albino Burmese Python's birthday is coming up.. well, not his birthday, but the day I got him (December 20th). He's going to be a year old and I felt that I should get him something special or something.. any ideas? 2 prey items instead of 1? new prey item?

Re: Snake birthdays? lol
How about a nice new hide or tank decoration?
PS I'm going to celebrate mine, but I haven't had my animals for more than a year yet.

How 'bout a spiffy picture to mark the occasion. An 11x14 portrait or something that you can look at and reflect upon over the years.
I have a couple of those capturing long-dead snakes that still make me smile every time I walk by them

Re: Snake birthdays? lol
Why thank you...thank you very much :P
If you opt for that, I suggest putting yourself in the image too so that you can look back and think "Wow, I remember when it was that small", kinda like these...
grew into this
So you can see how important it is to document these milestones

Re: Snake birthdays? lol
We've guessed at birthdates for our two snakes. Not sure what we'll do, but I definitely like the idea of getting pics etc. It's not like you can give them much of a special treat to eat or anything.
We celebrate all 3 of our dogs' birthdays on the only one's we know for sure every year (October 30th). They always get a steak fresh off the grill and a chew toy or something. hehehe
Pretty off-topic but weirdly pertinent, my mom's chihuahua was born on my wife's birthday and our golden retriever was born on my mom's birthday the same year. Strange but true.

Re: Snake birthdays? lol
It was a wet day and I was soaked. The point is that it's nice to have these things to mark special dates, and in this case it was my birthday 5 years apart. I didn't know the snake's hatch date or anniversary. The only scary thing is my still wet hair and how much of that girl was piled-up on the floor behind me that you don't see in the image, but I know the date of those images and that in the 2nd shot she weighed 168 pounds and was 17' 6". See, a great way to mark a milestone, just write the stats on the back of the frame

Re: Snake birthdays? lol
we totally celebrate all our animal's birthdays, since they are our only stinky little kids. I was thinking new hides, or at least photos, of course!
