So instead of blue our albino gopher gets pink eyes before shedding.

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
Usually when they are in blue, or pink in your gopher's case it's best to leave them to it.
Trust me I know how hard it can be.
And sometimes it doesn't make a difference.
But it can make shedding harder for the snake.

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
The only "harm" that can come to a snake by handling it while in shed is potentially stress.
If it is not stressing out there is zero harm in handling it while in shed.
It will not "make shedding harder for the snake" LOL
Main reason folks suggest to limit handling or not to handle a snake in shed as many specimens become far more "pissy" while in shed & are more likely to bite or be generally stressed out.
If the snake is totally chill it is not an issue in the slightest, Mark

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
I think he meant that when you handle a snake in blue or pink or whatever it could make the skin stick to the new skin under the shedding skin which could lead to a retained shed I've seen it discussed on here before

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
Nope. She was a solid 5 days after pink eye last shed so tomorrow or Friday I figure. I will post pics. I'm excited to see her too seeing as she never dulled after her last shed. I only hope this one is in one piece insted of 20 like last time

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
You could increase her humidity just a tad while she's in shed to help her out. That could help her shed in one piece

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
Her last shed was a few days after we got her. I figure it was a stress issue. I have her sitting at a tad over 70% right now. Should be good.

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
My SD Retic had 2 really bad sheds after we got him and then ever since they have been fine - i think the stress of moving and change of environments can really mess their sheds up.

Sorry but have to laugh at this ^
Shed issues due to handling NO.
Due to lack of humidity or external parasites YES.
Over a decade of experience with literally 1000s of snakes of various species, never had a shed issue ever due to a snake being handled while in shed.
Nuff said Mark

Re: Feeling "pink"!!
I handle my ball python Kaybe when he's in shed all the time. He doesn't mind it at all and he has perfect sheds every time.
