Watching your snakes heart beat.
I've been noticing over the last 3 feedings that when I feed my female retic 2 mediums, that after about 5 minutes when the rat settles, I can clearly see the snakes heart beat against her ribs. Has anyone else noticed this? And would anyone be interested in a video next time I see it?

I've never noticed my snakes' hearbeats after feeding, although when my cobra gets really worked up, I can sort of see it on him. He's an albino and when he hisses he blows air out so hard he almost flattens out. It's quite the sight, although he's normally very placid.
I for one would definitely like to see a video. I never turn down snakey vids!

I'm not sure if what I see on Kaybe is his breathing or his heart beating... How can you tell the difference?

It's obviously a heart beat, not sure how to describe it, but its two quick pulses repeating.

Breathing is much slower and steadier.
Heartbeats are as Stephan said, quick and in groups

Yup, I saw it a few times eons ago when I still kept giants. It's really noticeable in a large Burm or Retic at times. I can't say I noticed it after a feeding, but depending on how they were laying I could really see it, particularly if they were lying on their sides.

Hmmm I don't think I've seen mine's heart beat then... probably only ever seen him breathing. Post a video next time you see her do it!

not noticed that with my lot
i would be interested in a video of it though mate
my diamonds BLUSH when they eat.....
all the white on them turns pink to a dark pinky red
its like their blood pressure goes through the roof,i'll try and get some decent pictures once they're out their cooling cycle and back to being offered food

That's because, when pythons eat, their hearts swell and start pumping blood much faster. I'm assuming on your white diamond pythons the increased blood flow shows through causing the blushing effect you see.

I have never noticed Sasha's heart beat when she's eating, but I have seen and felt it at other times.
