New black blood update
New pics of my new male Vlad...both the new male and female (female I have yet to name, any suggestions?). Awesome snakes, they are only 3 months old but doing well. The female hits like a truck even at this age, but funny thing is the male will not strike, I have to lay the ft rat at the entrance of his hide, walk away and about 15 minutes later the rats is consumed. The male is super docile so far, just a sweetie. The female is great also but a bit more jumpy
Vlad likes to immediately poke out of his hide as soon as I open his enclosure, the female does the same like they are on alert lol:

Re: New black blood update
Love bloods... by far one of my top favourite kinds of snakes <3
He's adorable by the way, sticking his little face out to check out what's going on in his home :P

Re: New black blood update
These are such awesome looking snakes. I've been thinking of getting one for the last little while. Any suggestions for good black blood breeders here in the US?

Re: New black blood update
NERD is my favorite big-scale breeder. Mostly because he lives 45 minutes away from me
I've been to the facility and I can tell you first-hand they take good care of their animals.

Re: New black blood update
Ya I've heard they do a good job there. I really like the dark heads better though and it looks like they only have the lighter heads there. That Female 2 they have listed is absolutely beautiful though.

Re: New black blood update
Thanks for the comments. Bloods are by far my favorites and once these guys get old enough plan on breeding. Love my bp's as well but bloods are by far the best, demand respect and such personalities! I got these two from Matt Tiegen on Kingsnake.com he still has 3.2 left and great guy to deal with. The parents are super black

Re: New black blood update
Oh and the comment on the eyes, they are very cool especially on the blacks. Kind of creepy when they look at you and follow you where you can see their pupils, really cool lol, they definitely keep an eye on you

Haha, they sure do watch what's going on around them. I had a big Retic for years and years and he would keep an eye on people and you could see it just as easily because he had screaming orange eyes also, but it wasn't as keen on focusing on people as much as it was on taking-in all of the activity around it.
Bloods however, are *so* focused on the people around them that it's funny. It shows their insecurity when you make eye contact with them and they immediately freeze, not usually moving again until you break eye contact, and even then it's usually just to go in reverse because they know they've been spotted, lol.
Definite characters and sharper eye sight than most people give snakes credit for
