NPI Cage

I might be interested in getting 2 of these for my ball pythons. I know there are other threads like this, but I have to ask... Could I use an under tank heater with these? Please take a look and let me know what you think!

Re: NPI Cage

From the picture on the site it looks like they have spacers in between. Can't really be sure until you see it IRL though.

Re: NPI Cage

Looks like a legendary waste of money to me, And thats a negative on the spacers there Youngster. You can clearly see the light going from one side to the other in the pictures.

Re: NPI Cage

Ok thanks for the opinions!! I'll keep looking. I've been trying to find someone to just build one for me for a much cheaper price, but no luck so far... hence why I'm trying to find something online that isn't CRAZY expensive (like the boaphile ones are way out of my budget). I'll keep looking. Thanks!

Re: NPI Cage

Why not just buy a book shelf from Ikea and get some tanks/tubs to convert it into a rack system? Sure it will take some figuring, but most pet stores sell "no name" type tanks for next to nothing, like my 9 dollar 30g tank I picked up earlier this week.

Re: NPI Cage

Because you get what you pay for Kyle I'm willing to bet Ikea furniture will hold up better and longer than Walmart's stuff.

Re: NPI Cage

It's a great idea but for that price you can go to Lowes, Home Depot, 84 Lumber etc and buy the materials and build it yourself for a lot less.

Re: NPI Cage

Lol I'm getting the message that op doesn't really want to go into an extensive build with this one. So buying from scratch isn't really a great option perhaps... And I suggested IKEA because it tends to be strong and nice looking, Walmart would pronoun be ok but I don't know how far I would trust it.

Re: NPI Cage

I'd say you can't beat a bookshelf and tubs for any terrestrial animal. Since I'm at school, I've got 'Celli in a $7 Wal-Mart tub with a locking lid, and he's happy as a clam!

Re: NPI Cage

Vendettaseve is right- I can't build anything to save my life. I dont' want a rack system, I want pretty enclosures that I can decorate to look nice, and will be on display in my house. It has to meet my mom's standards for looking clean and presentable. I only have 2 ball pythons; not six or eight, so a rack wouldn't be necessary anyway

Since appearance is a concern, check the local papers, craigslist, garage sales for china hutches, corner cabinets, thrift stores etc, because all of them can easily be retrofitted into a tank. China hutches already come wired for lighting and customizing it is VERY SIMPLE, even for those that are not mechanically and technically inclined. (I hate wasting money if I can help it)

Re: NPI Cage

I think I've decided to go with Boaphile cages instead, since they have more reputation etc etc. and they can be ordered in grey or white instead of black, and they're definitely stackable and can come with the flexwatt heat mat with it too.
