Ovulating Amazon Tree Boa

<center>

Yesterday I noticed that our second female Amazon seemed to finally be ovulating. She's been breeding with a male for almost four months now and it looks like she has taken.

Sorry about the poor quality pic's. I didn't want to disturb her too much. Spraying her was enough! I've yet to get a good pic of female #1 that is now in the latter stages of gestation but I'll deferentially get some good shots of the parturition.

Thanks,

It seems like it would be kinda hard to spot ovulation in an ATB...
I could hardly see it...until one of the later pictures.
But i guess its easier with ur own snake cause u know how it looked prior.
Is there a correlation between the size of ovulation to the amount of offspring???

The size of ovulation in boas does have a correlation with the number of offspring produces. Typically, the larger the ovulation the larger the litter. There are also more viable offspring than slugs.

A small ovulation could be the result of several factors. The female may be too young or under weight. She may be unhealthy or possibly stressed.

I never even recorded an ovulation with female #1. Just faint swelling and now she's a s big as a house! I've also never bred Amazons before and I could understand the small ovulation when you consider the thickness of their body’s. Judging by female #1 all looks well and hopefully all goes well with this female.

Thanks,
