Info on the Tegu
Hello everyone. I was wanting to know some detailed info about the tegu. Things like enclosure, feeding, size, behavior, and the difference between black & white tegus and red tegus. Any info would be helpful. The reason im asking is because my dad is a huge reptile lover. Hes had a few lizards in the past and i was wanting to get him one for his birthday. I was wondering if a tegu would be a good choice.

Re: Info on the Tegu
I can not give you the details about a tegu but I would ask him if it's something he wants before you purchase it. I am not one for liking the idea of giving someone a living breathing thing as a gift. Before You hand over an animal that requires time and money to care for you need to make sure that person wants that commitment.

Re: Info on the Tegu
I think my dad would love a new companion no matter what species it was lol. Hes owned a breeding pair of sav monitors, a family of beardies, and a huge rock iguana named sid. I know he would like to try something new, and ive heard tegus were pretty good behavior wise. My dad lost his wife a few years ago and i think hed enjoy a new friend.

Re: Info on the Tegu
Hows about you give him a homemade gift certificate for the cost of the setup/lizard and then agree to drive him around to find exactly what he wants - that way is win/win cos he gets what he wants and you get to buy him the conmpanion that you want.
