Re: 100% het albino boas

If I were you I'd invest a little extra and get a male albino red tail and a female het albino red tail. That way you get albinos and 100% het albino babies instead of albinos and 66% het albino babies. Will make selling the babies so much easier later.

Re: 100% het albino boas

I was thinking about breeding het BPs together but as Stephan said you don't just get albinos and hets. But albinos, hets, and possible/66% hets. So unless it's a visual het you can't tell whether it's het or 66% het.

You can buy a regular albino for $200-$300 from what I have seen, they are not pricey at all anymore. I would definitely pair a 100% het albino with an albino if you wanted albino babies, but you might even want to consider getting a DH sunglow (hypo 100% het albino) to pair with your albino at least. They are NOT pricey at all, you can get one of those for as low as $125-$150 direct from a breeder. But make sure that whatever you choose, that both snakes have the same strain of albino - either both Sharp, or both Kahl, as they are not compatible with each other. I don't know many U.S. breeders, unfortunately, as I would obviously be seeking out those in Canada, but I would suggest Tom Burke, he's in N.Y. - he's one of the "boa gods". Not sure if he has any albinos left as they were sold out from his list at the show, but it couldn't hurt to ask: www.BurkeReptiles.com
