Enclosure too big?

Okay so I have a nice little male BRB.He is almost a year old.I have him in a 30 gal glass aquarium and I hate it.Its hard to keep humid and just not a good fit.
So if I move the boa to a 4x2x2 that I have empty would that be too big for him? I never see the little guy anyway, he's always under the substrate.
I worry about keeping the humidity up in the cage too, its wood with sliding glass front.IDK I may have to put him back in a tub until I can buy a proper plastic reptile cage.

Honestly don't know about humidity as it changes with location and species of snake. But if the cage is a little too big for her now, you can just put lots of hides in for them to go in between. My 2 mo old corn baby is in a 33gal and with 5 hides, he's perfectly happy!

If you provide a humid hide, or even just a corner of the viv filled with like 4 inches of wet sphagnum moss, then your snake can always get hydration when it wants. That's what i did with my BRB and the moss corner is its favorite spot to burrow during the day. However, a wood/sliding door enclosure is better all around if you feel like making the switch. Ample cover like hides and fake plants will keep your snake stress free in his big surroundings.

I would personally keep it simple and just get a tub for the time being.

I did have him in a tub.Ive got like 3 tubs sitting around unused but I just thought since I got the 30 gal for 10 bucks Id be able to see him once in awhile.Well turns out he never ever comes out anyway so I might as well put him back in the tub..But I also have the big cage empty.I recently sold off my large snakes, all 4 plus a couple others.So now I only have smaller animals.But I also now have plenty of room for my existing animals.

Im afraid if I put him in the 4ft cage Ill not be able to find him.I have trouble in the 30 gal., he burrows down and I have thougth I lost him a couple times.

If you do put him in a tub a empty tank = perfect excuse to get another reptile LOL

Ya, Khuno does that too, I have to basically dismantle his viv to find him for feeding/handling!!

I also have to take apart Adelina's tank to find her sometimes. I had to remove a good amount of bedding just to make it easier to find her. She can still burrow but now I am able to find her without having to "shovel" through a ton of bedding. Thankfully she has "learned" that I feed her in a certain hide and so now I find her there quite often.

How long is you BRB Sasha? I would say size has more of a roll on their comfort in the viv than age. I've got mine in an 30x12x12 (20gal) and he seems perfectly happy. Remember they're nocturnal so they'll come out at night as they want. Mine sleeps most of the day but comes out at night.
How are you heating the viv? One thing I was told when I was having problems keeping the humidity up is that a heat lamp dries the air out. I switched to a UTH and boom, no more problems with humidity. The sphagnum moss in a corner/hide is also a good idea. Nero loves that hide.

I thought I was the only one having trouble finding my brb in his cage...LOL.I have to take everything out everytime I need to find him, feed him etc.I could throw a thawed mouse in there for him but he wont find it if he never comes out.So I have to dig him out and then he will eat.
I wonder if he would just stay hidden and starve to death.
Miller I tried a UTH and it didnt keep the tank warm enough so switched to an overhead lamp.I use cypress mulch and it stays damp so Im sure he's humid as long as he stays under the mulch.But the rest the tank is dry.Im having trouble with my pacman too..Its been dry here and with winter coming it will get worse.
Im going to buy some moss and make a humid hide.
Also he is around the 3ft mark maybe a bit under, I havent really measured him, so Im estimating.IDK maybe I should just put him back in the tub, it was so much easier and mostly maintance free.
