Curious George
On Saturday at the Hamburg reptile show, I found someone who wanted to buy my very aggressive retic Orchid. I then found this awesome male and couldn't pass him up- he was a really awesome price and a total sweetheart. He's a 10-foot purple male with very nice yellows and vibrant purple.
On the way home, my friend who'd come with me glanced over at the back seat and said, "Oh Kim, there's a face! A face coming out of the bag!" I said, "Huh?" then felt a wet flicker on my ankle....the snake had managed to squeeze through the knot in his bag and was coming up alongside my driver's seat!!! I quickly pulled over and rebagged him, but not before he'd gotten his head up onto the roof of the car and terrified passersby. With him once again properly restrained- this time with a proper looped-over knot that couldn't be squeezed out of (some sellers don't know how to tie snake bags apparently), we finished the ride home.
The big snake checked out every corner of his new quarantine cage and then watched me with his face pressed against the door. I'd leave and come back a few hours later, and he'd pop his head up and come to the front to watch me and flick his tongue.
So my fiance suggested we name him "Curious George." George is awesome- absolutely sweet snake, but always in motion and wanting to tongue flick everything and check everything out. I'm looking forward to enjoying this handsome fellow for years to come and breeding him with my supertiger female and lavender albino tiger 1/2-dwarf female when they are ready.
George is going into shed- of course- so I was only able to get one picture of him so far. As soon as he's got his new skin, I will get some more for you guys.

Re: Curious George
O.o He sounds like he's got an awesome personality. Better a curious mind then a frightened one. Wish I could meet him.

LOL...yeah I sure hope not. I liked Orchid- he was a beautiful snake, but just too much for me to handle, with my fiance not being on board with it as well. Had it been a female like it was supposed to have been, it might have been worth keeping at least until I got one clutch, but as a male and that aggressive...it wasn't worth the danger to me. Once George sheds, I'll try to get some more pictures so you can see his size and color better.

Re: Curious George
Yes, I believe I did make the right choice for me, but I still feel somewhat badly that I could not tame down Orchid, but I wasn't going to be able to when I couldn't handle the snake by myself due to its size and tendency to bite, and my fiance was too nervous about it to be gentle and patient. George is a much better fit for my lifestyle and future breeding plans.
