Lame. Sorry man, I've always fed my snakes 2-3 times with scented then tried unscented and had them demolish the food.

MHD I also have a little hoggie who won't eat unscented. Personally though I don't find toad in my freezer that offensive. No more offensive than the pinkies...which will eventually be mice. Honestly I wouldn't stress yourself or the snakes over it. Just keep scenting them -shrug- I don't care if I do have to keep scenting for the rest of the snake's life.

Re: hognose eating

Not sure how large your hog is but I've been sucessful with doubling the feeding, one scented and then immediately following with an unscented while they are still actively in feed mode. Good luck!

Did that eventually lead to the animal eating unscented prey?

This has yet to happen with my girl. She is just getting big enough to eat fuzzies and so far the times I have tried one scented pinky with one unscented...the unscented goes uneaten. If I then take unscented and then scent it and offer it again she will quickly eat it.

But who knows it might work for others. My little one is a bit of a priss anyways. Always has been since I got her in Feb.
