Re: GOt my scorpion!
Looks great, if you send me a picture of it from underneath (close up) ill tell you if its a male or female. Also he wont be able to get out of that. They do climb sometimes though.

Re: GOt my scorpion!
You've got a nice looking male. Kind of hard to be 100% sure its not as clear as a picture. When you pause it, it gets a little blury. Pretty sure its a male though.

Not so much bigger, but more they have a different apperance then females at maturity. I personally like the look of older males, females get alittle hefty while males stay lean looking.
Ive heard it explained like this: Males look more like human males, with a toned look, while Females follow a more "curvy" look. kinda funny.
He looks to be a decent age. Has he eaten for you yet? mine took almost a week to adjust before they took there first meal.

Re: GOt my scorpion!
well, i just tried to feed him.. i killed the cricket,( i heard they were bad hunters, since they are an ambush predator?) anyway, i put it right by him, and he didnt seem interested, i fed Dexter, and turned back, and it was gone!!!! i was a large cricket that my beardie eats, but it was a smaller one, so id say medium.. ish...
last night he was on the top of the critter keeper!! bad pic, but you can see how he was..
few pics from today
enjoy, still looking for a name............

Re: GOt my scorpion!
Very nice scorpion. Best of luck with him/her.
If you want to see something really cool, shine a blacklight on it...it will glow neon teal. The blacklight won't hurt the scorpion at all, and it's definitely worth seeing at least once.

Re: GOt my scorpion!
I'm 99% sure that black light hurts scorpions in the long run if under constant exposure, cant remember where I read it... Been looking for a few minutes.

Ive heard this but then ive heard from breeders that it doesnt. Im sure constant expousure might not be good... Too much of anything is bad. See if you can find it sited somewhere id like to see a reference to it, sense im not sure either. I dont even own a black light but ive seen them under one's at show's (lots of them) for probably the whole show, so im guessing thats not to long.
