Re: and then....there was quarentine...
Its contracted from other reptiles, or anything the other reptiles with mites came in contact with.

Re: and then....there was quarentine...
Weird, I don't know how the heck they would have gotten it unless they had it when I got em. Odd. So once I get through treating them and get ther vivs back in shape is there chances of mites again if they are clean and not in an around other reptiles?

If you have been somewhere that there is reptiles you could have bought them back to your place on your clothes or a friend could have bought them in from their collection@?

Re: and then....there was quarentine...
Wow really? I mean I go to apet store pretty often to look at chondros and what not. Other than that my snakes are never around other reptiles or anything else that I could think of that would be able to give them mites

I'm going to start doing that, I had no idea mites could be transmitted so easily..

naked scotsman padding about the house is not a pretty sight ![Yes](images/smilies/yes.gif) ![Yes](images/smilies/yes.gif)

Hilarious Shaun! (Not the image I wanted in my head though.)
To the OP, I'm sorry you have mites. I make an extreme effort to touch nothing if I am forced to visit a pet shop. Also, not a SINGLE person other than my girlfriend can lay a finger on my snakes. 15+ years of keeping and never had mites...(knocks on wood).
I'd suggest PAM for treatment and preventative measures. Good luck!

Not complaining. I'm just glad you take off your clothes before showering. Scots been known to do crazy things.
