Infrared Heat Lamps

I've been using an Infrared heat lamp on my Stenodactylus Petrii (Israeli Dune Gecko) enclosure for a while now, ZooMed claims that it doesn't affect their nocturnal Behavior yet i notice that her eyes don't dialate when the light is on the pupils stay small. What do you think?

My "eye" training is in human ophthalmology, my animal training is as a surgical tech so I'm just guessing here, no data to back me up.

People who cannot see infrared light still have a pupil response to it and their pupils remain small. Yet they do not report seeing the light. Perhaps the same is true for lizards?

I'd go more on whether the infrared light affects activity levels than pupil size myself, but if you are worried you could always switch to a ceramic heat emitter.
