michigan field herping
So I'm getting read to move back to sweet michigan....and all my life since I was 4-5 years old I have hunted snakes. (As in looked for them I don't kill snakes)
There are two species I have never been able to find that drives me nuts
The smooth green snake and the blue racer.....
Anyone ever find these guys?

I would contact the local forest service and ask them about the local reptile inhabitants and where they are usually sighted. They might have a lead for you.

Re: michigan field herping
Hey I just joined this forum and came across this post. I'm from southeast Michigan and spend a lot of time out in the field. I enjoy all reptiles and amphibians but snakes are what I look for. I actually just flipped 2 big blue racers 3 nights ago in Monroe county

And forkedtongue, I know great areas for both of those species. I'm going crazy this year for an eastern hognose

Re: michigan field herping
Ya man. Hopefully we can before the weather gets cold. The hog and eastern milk are basically the only 2 giving me a hard time. I've saw everything else except obviously the kirtlands, which I'm sure I never will. Be safe man. Get ahold of me on Facebook or something and we can swap stories.

Re: michigan field herping
That'd be great, I'm not sure if ill make it back before it gets cold though, but id love to have someone who knows where to find these species helping me out, and I've never been able to find a hognose despite looking when I was younger so that'd be a blast too!
