Id put a second lamp in the front as well so you have light coming from all visible angles.
Im no photographer tho.

my camera isn't super amazing but it has auto or manual. if you have manual on yours too you could try that. also if you're using auto, snap literally like 100 pictures. i bet out of the 100 you'll have like 25 good ones or something. i usually use auto and snap ABUNCH and just go through and delete the sucky out of focus ones pretty quickly.

it doesn't look too bad to me. mine is pretty outdated but i get some good pictures out of it.
