He did it again!(Photographic evidence)

I tried approaching my Rosy boa, again. Little turd bit me...
My last post, I was told I wasn't in the snake bite club unless I had pictures XP

Horray for batteries, I managed to snap one good one with my terrible camera.

LOLZ Thanks for the welcomes. Don't worry, I'm being persistent with the little bugger

He tricked me this time around, though. He made me trust him, then he attacked DX

Need to snap a video of the encounter next time, It'd probably be a good one X3

Careful, snakes can break teeth by biting, and you don't want to get him used to biting.

I have yet to find that out, actually.. I approached him slowly, gently touching his back to let him know I was there. I kept my hand still to see what he'd do. He touched his nose to my hand, waited a bit and struck.

Well, that brings upon another question. Is there any way to teach him not to bite? Me and mom thought about a spray bottle full of water XD

That probably won't work, the only sure fire method I know of is hook training, but rosy's are tiny mellow snakes, is he still a baby? being nippy as a baby is normal, as they put on size they calm down.

Hook training? Excuse my adolescent ignorance..
I'm thinking he might be around three or four years old, maybe.. Not sure, should've asked my friend about it -_-;;... I'm his third owner and I'm not sure how old he was when the first owner bought him

Wow, third owner lol.
I'll let someone else answer this one, as hook training might be overkill for the animal and I don't have a great deal of experience with this type of boa.

Yup, third XD
Poor thing's probably been completely traumatized from so much travel T>T

I'll do my research and find the solution.

Im just going to vomit out what Iv heard and read from places, mostly here, I dont own a snake yet but I do handle them frequently at different places etc.

Going slow and touching etc, letting them sniff like a dog might is never a great idea. Makes them think your on the prowl for some snake tacos and your just checking him out.

Now if theres a special method with this kind of snake and Im totaly wrong do call me a noob

Re: He did it again!(Photographic evidence)

Touch him to let him know you are there and then pick him up, hovering your hand over him makes him think you are a big bad birdy trying to eat him. You need definitive not hesitant movements but at the same time dont slam your hand in and grab him, good luck!
