Snows and blizzard photos to share
Just wanted to post a few shots of two of our snow corns and our male blizzard corn. The yearling male snow still shows quite a bit of pink, that I am hoping will hold up over time. The female snow was hatched late summer '02 and is doing some growing over this winter instead of cooling.
The blizzard looks almost completely white with a bit of yellow on his neck but a lot of yellow shows up on his saddles in the photos. Not a desirable quality, but blizzard corns are still not common around here, so I got him in spite of it.

What a perfectly matched pair of snows! Are you planning to breed them and make some lovely little pink babies?
The blizzard is a knockout, I wouldn't be upset about that yellow, it's very attractive.

Thanks for compliments - I agree the yellow on the blizzard is striking, but I would have preferred one that had less, however, he has a very nice personality.
The snows are not related and at this point they are not destined to be bred to each other - each is part of a separate plan for some rotational breeding - so some second generation offspring from each of them may end up bred together, but that is a ways down the road.
thanks,
Mary v.

Rev,
I don't recall the photo of your blizzard - can you post it again. It always amazes me how much any corn morph varies among individuals.
thanks,
Mary v.

Hi Dawn,
Yes, this is Boo, the blizzard from the pet store in Saskatoon. He has more yellow than I would like, but it a sweet guy. Haven't probed yet, but looks like a male. Here are a couple more shots of him. The yellow on his body doesn't show when just looking at him, but seems really intensified in the photos. The yellow on his throat is quite pronounced though.

I personally like the yellow on his throat! It gives him character! And I think a few breeders are now trying to enhance the yellow necks/throats/faces in some morphs, so your guy might be cutting edge!
