Question Crested Gecko or bearded dragon?

Hey guys.... I need some help! 1 bearded dragon or 2 crested gecko's??

I'm looking into a new addition to our home but Im lost on which way I want to go. I have never owned either of these but I really like them both. I understand that the bearded dragon would be more $$ all around but other than that I don't know enough to make my choice. If you have knowledge that you want to share I would love it. Or if you have seen a good care sheet that is right..lol I would be interested in reading all I can. I have read some and got really mixed info so now I'm coming to you guys! I trust you more than I do Google!!

I'm looking for info on
Tank size as adults
feeding
temps
attitude

Thanks ahead of time for all your help!!!

I know beardies need a 4foot home as adults and eat crickets like sweeties as youngsters but over time their diet entails more greens.

Well, I'm slightly biased since I own 4 of them, but I would recommend crested geckos. Here is a great care sheet to get you started: Crested Gecko Care Sheet

Those are great too! I'd definitely choose a BTS over a beardie.

Re: Crested Gecko or bearded dragon?

I have had my bearded guy for almost 5 years now. I enjoy having him around too. He enjoys riding in the car and going out and about to the reptile friendly stores I visit in town. He also things himself some grand hunter when he goes after his crickets...best lizard ever. I gotta say bearded dragon with this one <3

Re: Crested Gecko or bearded dragon?

I have kept/keep all of the above. I say cresties hands down. My reasons are: They are cheap to keep. One bag of 10 dollar powder food last months. They don't need to eat bugs (but they do enjoy it every now and then ). They require no special lighting or heat. So low maintenance but still a "friendly" animal. And you can make their enclosures look soo nice with live plants and branches.

I also love BTS but they do require a little more attention and they hide alot.

Good luck on whatever you decide on
