I am going to come right out and say this, Raping an ecosystem for profit is not something I would suggest doing.

Just last week a young man took a lot of heat on another forum for collecting hundreds of tadpoles and selling them.

Those snakes serve a purpose, obviously there is more than enough prey available, taking a slew of the predators (the snakes) away will tip the balance.

Is it actually illegal to do so over there or just plain immoral?

Re: rattle snakes

Wow... That is absolutely terrible
Have you considered that they aren't yours to sell?!? I really hope that its illegal so this person/creature can't try to make a profit from animals in the wild...

I know in my state that rattle snakes are a protected species. It is illegal to harm/molest them in any way.

In contrast, Texas has an annual hunt where sheer numbers dead is celebrated?? and they cook up rattlesnake chili to eat.

Re: rattle snakes

Doesnt the human race as a whole slaughter enough of nature each day without you taking it into your own hands to add to this disgusting practice? Leave them well alone - they are doing nothing to harm you so why the hell take them from their natural habitat.

Re: rattle snakes

regardless to whether or not you know how to handle these absolutely beautiful creatures, you should never handle a venomous snake unless its absolutely necessary and its even more pathetic that ur asking to send them off to be killed for research on there venom content. frankly for this reason, you deserve to be bitten, especially as this planet needs more of these animals and less humans that think the way you do!!!!!!!!!!!!
