Burm cage
Anyone have a link to some good directions for building a cage to house an adult burm? Can I follow ones on here by doubling measurements to get a bigger one or is that dangerous?

I was hoping for stackable ones or a double over under as I have another one that will be an adult someday too. I remember seeing good plans on here for a double a while back but can't seem to find the link.

i wouldn't double the height. keep that as low as possible.

put the support in the center, right behind the glass. also, in cage building it is VERY IMPORTANT that the top piece sits on TOP of the sides and back.

You mean don't sandwich it between the other 3 touching pieces? That seems like common sense unless you meant something else? I can imagine how wobbly sandwiching it would turn out...

Some people make silly mistakes. Saw one kid a while back that used a Tv stand as a terrarium(with minor modifications) and forgot to fill in the wire holes. lost his entire collection.

My iggy cage was easy I didn't need perfect cuts just a frame to throw chicken wire on. All I have is a hand saw a drill and basic tools. Do you think I could have home depot pre cut all this stuff without pissing them off, or should I wait untill I can use someone table saw ect...

When i get my wood and im short on time i ask for pre-cuts, generally its free but they might charge you like 5$..

some home depot stores will charge per cut after the first few cuts. also, you need to make sure you get someone who knows what they're doing. ask them if they know what side of the pencil mark to cut on.

Lol i'll dry assemble it in the store to make sure they cut it right. I had them cut a piece to use as a lid on one of my tanks and it was a hole inch off. Fired.
