New condo construction, Scarletts getting spoiled
I spoil my animals, I can't help it. Got her new house addition done today. The rundown:
Bottom half 4x2x2
Top Addition 2.5x1.5x2
Both sealed with Drylok latex based
Built in light fixtures, mesh covered for protection.
Top light, 50w flood
Bottom Lights 70w Night/150w Ceramic
1" PVC up top
1.5" PVC Below
I also cut down her hide a little bit.
Plans for a built in water/soaking dish with drain, as well as more fake plants, and a few random/small hidey places.

Re: New condo construction, Scarletts getting spoiled
The snake condo looks good but in my experience light fixtures stress the animals out and make it hard to have stable humidity.
I'm not sure if this is something only I am effected by but i figured id toss it out there.

I had fixtures mounted on top of her old style enclosure without any ill effects on humidity levels. I've never had problem with humidity in either of my enclosures, and Kimo requires a very high constant humidity level.

Re: New condo construction, Scarletts getting spoiled
We use CHE in all our vivs and also jave had no issues with humidity, i wonder if it is only a problem with top opening tanks when using bulbs? All my vivs are wooden construction and front opening like max's

Re: New condo construction, Scarletts getting spoiled
Before, her tank was an open top with fixtures on top. Humidity wasn't necessarily an issue, although misting was needed at times. The new enclosure should be even easier to hold a constant %.
We'll see

With carpet humidity never really a issue. They do just find with what ever the room humidity is.
Really nice condo.

Thanks buddy.
Ya I guess I didn't really think to add that part. Carpets are such an easy snake to care for!
On a side not, looks like Scarlett may be going into shed soon.

Re: New condo construction, Scarletts getting spoiled
It's like that back in my hometown (central oregon). Humidity gets VERY low, down in the 10-20% in the winter. When going home to visit, my lips will start chapping within a few hours of being there. My bodies used to the 50% winter humidity, 90+% summer humidity of Albany.
