Re: bp eating
yea my dumerils still hasn't eatin in months, i have my fingers crossed he will start up again soon also. good luck with your bp's jenn :x lol.
also i had 2 cardboard petco animal containers as hides and i noticed just about every day the last week or so the BP flips his hide over on the cold side and i always just see it overturned. i figure he's been trying to hide in it and flipping it over like an idiot, so i took out the cardboard ones and made him one out of a plastic box on the cold side, and one out of a tupperware container on the hot side. and i've seen him use both of them already.
for some reason it gives me great satisfaction to see my pets using the things i create for them lol.

Re: bp eating
I found a great thing to use as a hide, moose antlers. They absorb heat like crazy and make a great shedding surface.

Re: bp eating
I've seen some neat DIY plastic hides made out of tupperware containers with an entrance cut/soldered out, then sprayed with Krylon to make them opaque. Another option I've heard of is to alter a cat litter box/tray.
Moose antlers are also an interesting idea. As they have a larger solid area at the base compared to deer antlers I can see how you could use them as a hide. Just not sure how easy they would be to clean.
