I just recently got a juvenile Jungle Carpet Python a day and a half ago and he is BEAUTIFUL! I'm not sure what I'm going to name him yet though I really like the names Kaa and Tarzan:King of the Jungle
I just went and got some driftwood for him to climb on in his temporary cage, I can't wait to see him climb and just chill all happy and whatnot.
I's post pictures of him but I'm new, I litterally JUST signed up, and don't know how to post them on a thread yet. You should show me some pictures of your pythons and any advice is very appreciated :3
When ypu say you just got some driftwood, did you buy it pre treated or get kt from a beach? If it is from a beach you need to treat it to ensure no parasites get into your snake tank, let us know and someone else who has done this will be able to tell you how.
Main thing really is to leave the snake alone with hot spot of 88f and cold end no lower than about 75f for a week to settle in, make sure he has fresh water and a hide and somewhere to climb onto to perch and you should have a happy snake.

Stephan, No, I started off with a garder snake when I was around 10 then a few years after I got a ball python, He was so sweeeet! and then I got a creamsicle cornsnake who was gorgeous! but he is the first semi-arboreal species I've owned.
Lanky, I did get it from a beach and I'm still in the process of doing the whole bleach treatment. He has been chillin in his water bowl a lot scoping out everything and I have this thing I put in the for him to climb on it, I think it was meant to be a candle holder but put it in his cage cause it looks jungle themed.
I have a question, does dry acrylic pain effect snakes at all?
Because his hide thing is some type of hard plastic and it's black and I want to paint it to match the candle holder thing but I won't if it could hurt him.

Welcome aboard.....I have to admit though a carpet python is a lil different than a ball or a corn...bitey when young and get a nice size..beautiful snakes they are

Thank you for showing me! I'm about to post a couple pictures of him!
And I know he is nothing like a BP or a corn, I wanted something that would get a really good size and I think he will be perfect and I did do a lot of research before I got him and he is quite a baby but he is VERY young though I'm not sure how young he is.
