Scarletts new home
Got a lot done today!
4'x2'x2'
All it needs now is a coat of paint.
She's a very arboreal snake, so I gave her plenty to climb on, and a nice large soaking dish.
I'm starting to think I'm getting good at building enclosures...
Time for a beer... I'll update when it's painted and Scarlett's moved in.

Re: Scarletts new home
Well, Scarlett was beginning to look all too uncomfortable in her temporary home, so I moved her into her permanent enclosure.
I have not painted the outside yet, but plan to.
Also, I'm rather lost on decorations for her enclosure... I went with a far less natural look for her, mainly to save money, but also to offer her appropriate, and sturdy accommodations that will be somewhat easy to clean.
What do you all decorate your adult, active carpets enclosure with? I'd love some pic examples I can't find many large carpet enclosures like mine, many larger ones are the "vision" type plastic, pre-built cages.

Re: Scarletts new home
Is that wood all coated for humidity resistance?
Otherwise it looks solid.

Not at the moment, although I plan on coating it within the following months, when I build my Tegu's permanent 7x4, I'll coat both at the same time.

Re: Scarletts new home
I'm not an expert on wood treatments but wouldn't be trapping bacteria and anything else under the coating then?

Not after I treat the wood with a mild bleach rub

Re: Scarletts new home
Be careful what type of paint you use- some are toxic and if any flakes or scrapes off and gets ingested it can be an issue. I hope you made sure you used a waterproof, non-toxic paint?
