Unhappy Question about a rescued ball python

Hi,
I am new to this site and was looking on the web for answers to some of my questions. I thought I might post on here and see if anybody knows.
Yesterday I Rescued a ball python from a horrible owner......The snake is extremely underweight hasnt eaten in months, has dried mucos around his nose (which I know is R.I.) but he seems to have something else wrong with him. Yesterday after I brought him home and set him up (in a room furthest away from my reptile room so that he can go through the quarantine and hopefully get better WITHOUT BEING NEAR MY COLLECTION) He started to look like he had to take a poop....... He was cruising around the cage with his tail lifted up but there was no poo!!! He did this for about 30 mins and all that came out was this disgusting rancid smelling gooish liquid that was a nasty yellowish pink color! I can not even put into words how disgusting it smelt made me nearly vomit. Never smelt anything like it before. I suspect he may have a parasite but also had a thought that maybe since he hasnt ate but has drank that it may be a potty that smells bad from lack of nourishment. As soon as he did the weird smelly poo thing I took him out of the cage..... took the cage outside hosed it down scrubbed every nook and crany with disinfectant and bleach to make sure that whatever he has......... it is out of my house. When he does the nasty poo thing again I do plan on scooping it up and putting it in something to take to my vet and have it tested but in the meantime does anybody have any info? Has this ever happend before? Do you know what the best treatment is? He is being treated for the R.I. and seems to be alot more active today then he was when I decided to rescue him. Alot of tongue flicking and moving around......... yesterday i thought death was on his doorstep......

Please if you have any info or advice let me know
thanks alot

Re: Question about a rescued ball python

Glad that you rescued this guy from his previous owner, so sorry that he is in such rough shape! Nice that you quarantined him, you can never be too safe!
Keep in touch and let us know how the vet trip goes, hopefully he still has some fight left in him.

Re: Question about a rescued ball python

Thank you to all. I think I am going to like this site but is there a classifieds for ball pythons? Yes I am glad I have saved this snake he is very gorgeous and very friendly....... I am so angry that some owners are so irresponsible, I honestly cant believe how some people dont really care about the health of there animals!!!!! He is a complete sweetheart I dont see how somebody could have been so cruel to him....... It honestly makes me want to cry, makes my heart hurt

Our BP was a rescue also.

I personally took him away from a crack house.
