medical grade temp guns have a use by date on them over here you can pick one up thats deemed unfit for medical use but are still accurate and function 100% correctly for a reasonable price

a good temperature gun is a great investment for any reptile keeper imo

Re: Temp Gun

I also got mine at a reptile show for under $50. I picked it up from Greg West of Cornelsworld (he also sells them online).

Also, I just checked out their websites and found this one at Home Depot and this one at Canadian Tire for around $60-$100, not sure if they're available in store though. And, I have seen cheaper, smaller 'pens' but not sure on their quality.

Yeah I got that one from Canadian Tire when it was 75% off and it works great, it big though but works great when I checked it against my digital thermometer.
I would wait and get the one at the reptile expo! I'm not sure if Exclusive Snakes has a store or if its only on line shopping but you can always e-mail them.

Re: Temp Gun

Double check the instructions and range limitations, then use it on yourself - if it reads you as the walking dead, I'd exchange it.

Was that Celsius or Fahrenheit?

Re: Temp Gun

Sounds more likely on the Celsius then the Fahrenheit.

There can't be anything in the way, like you can't get a temperature through the glass, it's the first thing that the beam hits. Some have a distance that is recommended for an accurate reading also.
What brand is it?
