Question Retained Eye-caps

Aside from my ksb's first shed, she has always retained her eye-caps (and she has been shedding on and off for six weeks due to stress and being clawed by a cat). The last time I helped her out with a few drops of contact lens solution and gently pulling the skin off around her head with tongs. Is there a better or safer way of doing this? (I don't even attempt to help her unless she has retained the caps over two or three sheds)

Re: Retained Eye-caps

take some vasaline and a stiff q tip (not one thats all fluffy and breaking apart) and use the q tip to rub the vasaline in and be gently do this every night and use the other side of the q tip to get wet and rub off the excess so when your snake burrows the substrate doesnt get stuck on it

Re: Retained Eye-caps

Mineral oil sounds like the better bet as I think it would be absorbed better (I used it on my own kids when they had cradle cap--human babies, that is). I'm going to let her go for the time being as she has only one shed retained, then I will worry about helping her. Shaunyboy, do you have any suggestions? Feel free to pm me!
