My snake got stuck in tape!!!
My baby KSB, got stuck in tape. I woke up and saw the thermometer in my enclosure on the substrate, and i use tape to keep it on the side. Looks like my KSB was trying to climb up and brought down the thermometer with her. After 5 minutes I got her off the tape with some struggles, but I tried to pull her off as calmly as possible. Do you think the tape might of hurt her, because she ran under her substrate quickly.

Re: My snake got stuck in tape!!!
I'm sure it didn't feel good. She was likely very scared and stressed. Plus, KSBs like to hide.
I've experienced this problem, but to this day, I don't know how the tape got in the viv (I was working with electrical tape on the outside of the viv...maybe a piece stuck to me and somehow made its way into the viv.). I used a drop of vegetable oil on a Q-tip and rubbed the Q-tip on the adhesive. The oil essentially broke down the adhesive and came off of the snake without force.

Re: My snake got stuck in tape!!!
Had a friend who had a baby Albino Burmese python get caught on some duct tape he was using to hold down the lid. By the time he found the snake it had skinned itself alive. It had ripped 3/4 of the skin off it belly and side. Was a bloody mess. There was nothing he could do, but ends it suffering.

Oh no, that's terrible Chuck! I had a baby CCP get stuck on duct tape, but we were able to get her off without her hurting herself, using baby oil and gentle, careful work. It took about 15 minutes of me sweating profusely and crying. It took her a few hours to get her jaw all straightened out after, but she was ok. She's now with a good friend of mine, and huge and beautiful!

Re: My snake got stuck in tape!!!
Don't worry, Myksbrock! The fact that your ksb went and burrowed immediately is VERY normal. Check her out well and see if (s)he is missing any skin, otherwise leave him be. He'll probably need a few days to de-stress (maybe a week or so) and then he'll be back to normal. Try to feed him on your usual day and in your usual way to see if he eats. He may go into shed depending how stressed his skin is, but if he looks normal he will go back to normal. May all go well!

One of the saddest things i ever seen. Happen in the middle of the night and by the time he found it was barely breathing and it body was twitching. This is why you'll never find any kind of tape on or near one of my cages.
OP i would go to Wal-Mart and get a digital thermometer that you can just set in the cage. That have them starting at $6.00 and like $11.00 with a probe. Hopefully you little guy will be find.

Re: My snake got stuck in tape!!!
Thank you very much for all the great-positive feedback. I think she is doing okay, as she is one of the strongest, sweetest snakes I have ever met to this day.

Re: My snake got stuck in tape!!!
My kingsnake got suck in duct tape once. I had to use baby oil and warm water to get it off. It took some of his scales off but once he shed he was all healed and back to normal. I am sure she is doing fine. Keep us updated!
