Talking Japanese Rat Snake

This is "Sushi" my Japanese Rat Snake. She is about 4 feet or more in length. She has amazing coloration. One of the neatest belly coloration's I have ever seen. She is iridescent with turquoise, green, lavender, and golds in the sunlight. The keeled large scales also give an interesting texture. Overall an interesting species to keep and I highly recommend for beginners and children due to their calm temperament. The have lower temperature requirements and are diurnal, which means they are active in the daytime and interesting to watch. I need to get her out again this summer for new photo's...

Thanks for looking...

Wow, she is really pretty. I love the puppy dog face and the shiny scales. Neat snake- I will have to add this species to the "want" list as well, lol.

Great looking snake! The vast difference in coloration between pics is truly amazing (I love pic #4: you can see the blues, blacks, and golds!) Thanks for sharing!

Re: Japanese Rat Snake

I love to take my snakes outside when the weather is nice. The only way to really appreciate your animals colors it to see them in the sunshine. It is cool to see how different they look in different lighting situations.
