Re: Bad Shed
Sorry, brain now engaged. Royal python should be constatnt 55-60% humidity and raised to 70% or so whilst in blue. Also a humid hide with sphagnum moss works well to aid the shed. Make sure he has a water bowl big enougn to submerge totally if he wishes.

Re: Bad Shed
i was always under the impression that 80 humid was best in blue and 60 should be held at most times

Re: Bad Shed
Royals should have a constant 50-60% humidity and raise it to 80-90% when they are in blue. This can be accomplished by misting the enclosure when the snake is in shed, or daily humidifying soaks. To to OP, get a Rubbermaid or Sterilite bin of appropriate size and put the snake in it. Put in enough slightly warm water to come about halfway up the snake's sides and put the lid on the tub. Leave the snake in the water in the tub for about 15-20 minutes, then transfer it quickly back to its warm enclosure. You can also put a warm wet towel in the tub and put the snake on that and leave it in a warm spot for an hour or so. The snake will crawl around and the friction on the towel helps to rub off old skin. Just make sure to monitor the water or towel so it doesn't get too cold.

I honestly forgot about that but we had done that in a zoo I worked in during college for our large snakes. For some reason they always had trouble shedding. Works like a charm especially for snakes who have had bad sheds in the past.

Re: Bad Shed
Well i was keeping my BALL PYTHON (sorry it wasn't clear the fist time) at about 70% humidity and he started acting like he was getting RI. so i lowered it to about 40-50% and he's doing fine, until he had to shed. I'm going to check him again, last night i put him in some warm water. it got most of it off, but there is still some near his head. I will check and see if he got that part off yet Thanks Guys!

Re: Bad Shed
Retics tend to have trouble- I have no idea why, but most of the people I know who have full-size retics never get perfect sheds from them. My SD wasn't too bad. She had mostly nice sheds, but once in a while she'd have trouble and the towel in a tub always worked for her. I don't know if Burms have similar issues, but they shouldn't if they're being kept properly I'd think.
