Profile: Topaz
Hoping to build on the momentum I started earlier week, today I’ll profile one of the Brazilian Rainbows I will breed in 2011, Topaz. Topaz is a September 2007 female. As of last month end, she weighed in at a healthy 2200 grams.
Here is a shot of her from the front:
And the side:
And the top:
Unfortunately, the camera tends to distort color without the flash on, so here is the same sets of shots with flash on, better capturing the quality that makes these snakes “rainbows”:
Front
Side
Top
I hope to post some pictures of her intended mate later this weekend or early next.
Happy holidays,

Oh, she's a pretty one. I like the patterning on that one.

Re: Profile: Topaz
Thanks Ch^4 and Presspirate. Topaz is definitely eyecandy, and even better in person. I picked up two top older males this year just to give me comparable options on the male side; one of them will pair with her and one with another female. Thanks for looking!

Re: Profile: Topaz
I'll admit, they are not on my current want list but if you keep it up they may be.

Re: Profile: Topaz
Thanks Tyler! I have high hopes for her babies!
Marvel: thank you, I agree. She’s one of the top females I’ve seen, and I’m lucky to have her.
Pirate: LOL, guess I’ll have to keep tempting you. ;-) With any luck, I’ll have a whole passel of babies eight months from now.
Thanks Grimleo!

Re: Profile: Topaz
Thanks Snakey-Jay! As for length, good question: I don't usually check, as length is a fairly time-intensive measure. However, I took her out just now, and (though she was nervous for some reason tonight!) she looked to be just under six feet in length.

Re: Profile: Topaz
An updated picture of Topaz, taken only a bit ago, as she enters breeding season. The back half of the picture comes very close to her real color and contrast, though the front part is washed out by the flash.
Looking good, girl!
