during the shedding proccess the snakes eyes will cloud up go blue then they will clear up and the snake will appear normal.
his eye caps have not fallen off
a snakes eyes will clear up and look normal after they go blue
your snake will shed 5 to 8 days after the eyes clear up
the eye caps will be on the shed when this happens
always check the shed to make sure the eye caps are on it
also the tip of the tail of the shed should always be checked to make sure its complete
if shed is left on the tip of the tail then it can cause the blood to be restricted and cause the tip of the snakes to fall off
once youve seen your carpet shed you'll see what i mean
dont worry i think everyone of us thought the same when we first saw our snakes go into then out of shed
cheers shaun

Re: Shed
it might but not likely just give him a warm soak for about 10-15 min and all will be fine i'd bet (soak daily until shed)

Re: Shed
I don't soak my snakes. It's a bit stressful on them and myself. I would recommend a humid hide with damp sphagnum moss. All of my snakes have them, and I have yet to have a bad shed. Also, my boas, which require higher humidity get a good misting at sundown every day.

you will cause a lot more stress than is neccessary if you soak in the bath especially every day
IT IS NOT A RETAINED SHED WE ARE DEALING WITH
you said about 5 days ago his eyes cleared up.
it can take anything from 5 to 10 even 15 days depeneding on the individual snake before it sheds.
cheers shaun

excellent suggestion if it were a retained shed or a difficult shed
but the time frame here im thinking the carpet will shed in his own time
it has only been 5 days since the eyes cleared up
CARPETS HAVE NO SPECIFIC HUMIDITY REQUIREMENTS
i would not mist any of my carpets
boas as you've said mate are completely different in humidty requirements
cheers shaun

Re: Shed
well when the snake is calm and cool a soak is fine. that is what im assuming his snake is... and a soak helps astronomically for a shed doesn't just have to be stuck... no need to just completely down my post

listen mate i was not downing your post
i honestly felt it was the wrong way to go about things in this case
yes there is a time and a place for your suggestion
i dont think 5 days after eyes clear up after blue is the time to go down that road
carpets have no specific humidity needs as long as their temperatures are correct they shed just fine
please understand a conflict in answers does not mean disrespect mate
it means a difference of opinions or a difference in ones own personal experiences of a situation nothing more
cheers shaun
