Little swine!

So today is feeding day, SD fed for me first time! Man they hit hard, nearly took the feeding tongs and everything!

BP fed consecutive feeds for me as well, frist time he had fed two times running with no refusal in between.

And then i fed all my corns, one of which is the most mellow chilled out dude ever, i handle him to put into feed tub and he is the only one that i then handle to put back in his viv ( rather than lift the tub and let slide back in on its own). As i put him down today back in his viv he struck my index finger, which kinda made me laugh as he is so small but then he decided tomtry to eat my finger! At its worst he had the tip of my finger into his neck and was trying to get more in! I thought that he would just spit it out butbhe kept trying to swallow more. Ended up with running his head under a cold tap for about five minutes before he unlatched his teeth and let me go. Left me with five small blood marks in my finger but he seems ok, back in his viv and chilling out.

Guess next feed he will NOT be picked up after!

Re: Little swine!

Sounds almost comical...

Re: Little swine!

He might just have picked up the scent of food on your hand, but you still might want to keep an eye out for that one.

Re: Little swine!

I am VERY careful not to touch the prey items with my hand - only with the tongs. I think he just thought it was time that i received a "proper" bite as only had little strike/release bites before.

Re: Little swine!

Mine tried to eat a finger once too...

On a similar subject, I sold some pinks to a guy and he wanted to see my snakes, I never gave it a thought and reached into the cage of the absolute largest garter snake I own to get her out.

Having just packed a dozen pinks with my hands I still smelled of fresh food.

So I suddenly have a 30 inch snake with a broad head trying to eat my hand.

At some point or another we all get tagged.
