Re: This is not a cricket

Last summer I stopped mowing when I saw about 100 mantis all over the grass blades.

Very cool find

He sure picked the right box to stow away in, most other people would of just fed him off.

I can't wait to find out what species he is

Until just now, I didn't realize just how many species of praying mantis there were..

Re: This is not a cricket

I keep praying mantids in my snake room, they`re great little things Well I say little, the Griffin mantis I`ve got at the moment is huge lol You lucky thing you! What a nice surprise! I`m not sure what species it is, I`ll pop a picture on the mantis forum for you and find out. One things certain, that`s going to be pretty big. She looks like she`s got two or three sheds left to go to adulthood and they pretty much double in size with each shed. Keep us informed! I`ll be very interested to see how she`s getting on I`ll let you know what species she is as soon as I find out

Maybe, between these and all the herps hiding in the grass, I hate to mow.
