We have recently acquired a red tail boa. My son named her Smiley and she is about 4' long and is very docile. We just fed her for the first time and she has gone 'under ground' and has buried herself under her shavings. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

This is perfectly normal. They like to hideout after eating useally for a few days. Love to see some pictures. We're all picture junkies around here. lol
Hello, and welcome aboard. My Boa likes to bury himself a lot. When he's not buried he is in one of his hides. He comes out to bask usually at sundown.
