New to snakes, substrate question

Hi everyone,
I'm going to be a new owner of at least two corn snakes.
I've never owned snakes before and wanted to know if there is anything specifically that I have to look out for.

Also I would like to know what substrate (Other than newspaper) would be the easiest to care for and use.

For corns, aspen, reptile bark or coconut would all be fine.

I use whatever is on sale at the time.

I use aspen for my corn snakes. You can pick it up in bulk at farm and home supply stores in the pet section. It is usually way cheaper than what the pet stores charge. Make sure it is 100% aspen though some may have pine mixed in.

We use repti-bark now for ours but that is mainly down to making a good deal with our local shop so its cheaper than anything else. I do like the look of a snake on aspen tho.

Hello and welcome to the site. I use 100% recycled news paper kitty litter. It looks better than paper and is really easy to clean.
